I was riding my bike down North Avenue in Chicago one Sunday evening in September. I work downtown and when I ride home I like to use the last bit of light and twilight to look for opportunities to shoot. I was riding my Batavus west from the lake to Wicker Park. I noticed on the corner of Elston and North several vintage cars starting to leave a parking lot . I had a very short opportunity to shoot before the cars left. I pulled over and shot the following photos.

Shot with a Leica R5 with a 50mm Summicron 1.8 using Ilford Delta 3200. It was ealry evening when the photo where shot. The sun was down with a glimmer of twilight. What helped was a large video billboard which illumined the scene. It acted like a large soft box. The first shot really captures the light source. The second shot the vintage Cadillac pulling out onto North Avenue was further away, but it still caught some west twilight and was back lit by the cars headlights. The last shot the car was parked closer to the light source with a little spill. Great tone and texture.
